If you enjoy reading short stories, or would like to know more about short stories and short story writers, here are some ideas for things you could do during National Short Story Week and throughout the year.
Visit your local library and bookshop
- look for some of our recommended reads at your local library and bookshop,
- ask your local library and bookshop staff if they stock any short story anthologies.
Read short story books and magazines
- choose a book by one of the short story writers on our list,
- download our PDF list of magazines that publish short stories.
Join a reading group or book club
See if there is a reading group in your area. Your local library or the U3A may be able to help, or you can search for reading groups through the Book Group Directory. If you already belong to a reading group or book club why not suggest a short story collection as your group’s text during National Short Story Week?
