Tring Writers Circle – a diverse group of Hertfordshire writers – launched its first anthology of short stories during National Short Story Week 2014 at the newly-opened Albert Street Community Arts Centre in Tring hosted by Liz Raba, the centre’s founder and director.
The anthology, titled Flights of Fancy, contains 23 stories by 14 writers, in a range of styles and genres. Ian Skillicorn, founder and director of National Short Story Week, has contributed an introduction. The anthology is priced at just £5, with the entire purchase price being donated to a local charity (Rennie Grove Hospice Care) thanks to the kind sponsorship of Baxter & Lindley Financial Services and John Lambert Car Sales of Tring, and Slightly Mad Studios of London. The Rennie Grove bookshop and Fancy That in Tring have now sold out but there are a limited number still available at £5 per copy from Waterstones in Berkhamsted. Once all printed copies are sold, it will be available from Amazon for £10 with all profits (approximately £5 per copy) going to Rennie Grove Hospice Care.
Tring Writers Circle, whose numbers include published novelists, poets and short story writers, hope that Flights of Fancy is their first venture into print together, and always welcome new members interested in writing in whatever form.
